Caregiver families needed to provide care for newborns

Did you know that one in 28 American children have an incarcerated parent?
Approximately half of those children are under the age of 10. Through Jonah’s Journey, we are able to support the infants of incarcerated mothers in Tennessee.
We teach them the Gospel, offer consistent care to support their cognitive development and emotional health and serve as a bridge between the mothers and their babies. We do all of this to help sustain and grow a family, with the ultimate goal being reunification once the mother has finished serving her sentence.
Due to COVID, we have more mothers who would like to place their children in our care than caregiver families. This is largely due to the fact that COVID has limited our ability to be out in our communities — hindering our opportunity to share about Jonah’s Journey.
