Tailgate for Jonah’s Journey
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Make plans to “Anchor Down” on Commodore Lawn at Vanderbilt University Nov. 28 and gear up for the rivalry game against the University of Tennessee to support Jonah’s Journey.
Enjoy treats from some of Nashville’s best restaurants. You will get all the benefits of tailgating without the hassle of planning and setting up. You can also cheer on your team from the comfort of your living room by picking up a tailgate to-go box.
Jonah’s Journey is a Nashville-based, nonprofit that serves as an alternative to state foster care. It works specifically with incarcerated mothers and newborns. The organization focuses on building a relationship with both the mother and the child, and it’s goal has always been reunification. Since opening in 2008, the organization has reunited over 100 familes.
As fall approaches, event season is underway for Jonah’s Journey. Tailgating has always been a favorite for our team at Jonah’s Journey and we look forward to sharing some of our traditions with you. Together we can make an impact in the lives of children and incarcerated mothers across the state of Tennessee.
The game starts at 6 p.m. Tailgating will open at noon. To-go orders can be picked up starting at 10 a.m.
If ordering to go, park, text us that you are here and wait in your car as we bring your tailgate kit out to you!
This year will feature treats from Chick-fil-A, Jeni’s Ice Cream, San Antonio Taco Co. and Just Love Coffee, just to name a few.
###
Jonah’s Journey began in 2008 after one family felt the call and provided a caring, loving home for baby Jonah, whose mother gave birth to him while incarcerated at the Tennessee Prison for Women. The organization made it possible for Jonah to eventually reunite with his birth mother and also began Jonah’s Journey, an alternative to state foster care for mothers who are incarcerated. What makes Jonah’s Journey unique is the ongoing relationship between the caregiver family and the birth mother. For more information, contact 615-686-3250 or visit jonahsjourney.org.
